that you start your colon hydrotherapy journey by booking “back-to-back” sessions.
By this, we mean that you do two colonics: one colonic a day for two consecutive days in a row. While this absolutely is not a mandatory way to schedule, it is recommended by The International Association of Colon Hydrotherapy (I-ACT) for many reasons:
It allows you to have a more thorough cleanse (Fecal matter softens on day one and sometimes doesn’t come out until day two, especially if you suffer from severe constipation or digestive issues).
While most clients report feelings of increased energy and well-being following their colonic sessions, a small number of clients leave after their first colonic session with minor, common detoxification side effects—such as having a mild headache or feeling tired. Most clients report feeling great & refreshed after their second colonic.
If you have not had a colonic with us before and want to do a “back-to-back”, you will sign up as a "New Client" for your first session and then as a "Return Client" for your second colonic. We strongly recommend..
24-48 hours after your colonic.
Only stick to eating easily digestible foods: cooked veggies (roasted, pureed, soups, etc), raw fruit, smoothies, teas, broths, kombucha & green tea.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate: drink plenty of water & consume lots of hydrating foods (watermelon, cucumber, bell peppers, tomatoes — Google is your friend!)
No animal products: dairy, meat, fish, milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, ice cream, butter, whey, gelatin - if it came out of or from an animal, don’t eat it.
No gluten, processed, or fast foods.
No refined sugars, cane sugar, corn syrup, or highly processed vegetable oils.
Go light on grains, nuts, seeds, nut butters (they are good for you but slower to digest)
24 hour cancellation policy.
A strict 24 hour cancellation policy is enforced - any appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full cost of the service originally booked.

We believe that if you have a colon, in most cases you should be cleaning it. We will go over your health and digestion/elimination history before first session, but generally our clients get sessions for all kinds of reasons— from general health maintenance to supplementing a cleanse to addressing long-term gut issues. Most clients report feeling lighter, refreshed, and more energized post colonic session. A small number of clients report common detoxification side effects like headaches, gurgling noises in the gut, or feeling tired. These symptoms almost always go away after having a second session in a “back-to-back.”

No - Definitely not! It is not the same thing as a massage, though. You are actively taking in purified water and expelling, just like when you are on the toilet. Colonics aren't painful, but you may feel waves of mild pressure or discomfort (similar to the feeling of diarrhea) as your muscles contract. Any discomfort will pass as quickly as it came and will soon be replaced with wonderful lightness. Your comfort and peace of mind is our top priority! Most clients breeze through their sessions with no side effects.

You can expect to be in the office for 60-90 minutes per session. You don't necessarily need to do anything in preparation, but since we do some light abdominal massage we recommend eating lightly (or not at all) for a few hours leading up to your appointment to avoid discomfort in the session.
We'll chat before your session and give you all the info you need to make sure you're feeling respected and comfortable before we start.
You'll have some time to yourself before you head back out into the world, refreshed & rejuvenated!

You should be able to return to business as usual after your session, feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and refreshed! Most of our clients feels energized, lighter, and more comfortable in their clothes.
In some few cases, clients feel slightly tired the evening of their colonic, almost like the feeling of post-workout fatigue. This is normal; your colon isn't used to working that hard for that sustained period of time & when the body detoxifies it can sometimes exhibit these symptoms! Your sleep should improve massively, and you should feel much better than before you came in.

No, you should not need to. You may need to use the toilet once or twice after your colonic, but it is generally not an explosive emergency situation.
Most people are able to expel all of the water out of them before they get off of the equipment. You are welcome to stick around the office for a few minutes if you are concerned, although it is rare to keep eliminating post session.

Nope! The equipment is designed in such a way where you don’t smell any of the eliminations. No stink is a great thing!

No! Contrary to some of the myths surrounding Colon Hydrotherapy, they don’t hurt or disrupt the membrane protecting good gut bacterias — we’re actually clearing the way to create a better, more healthy environment for them to thrive.
It isn’t hocus-pocus; it’s actually pretty straightforward: colonics use purified water to gently hydrate, dissolve, and clean waste, gas, plaque, mucus and harmful toxins out of the colon. Every interconnected system in your body functions better as a result!

The question of how many colonics to have depends on you and your personal wellness goals.
It could just be that you are constipated and want the colonics to help unclog your backed-up eliminations—in which case, several colonics in a short span of time might be the answer for you. Or perhaps you want to supplement a fast or nutritional program and would like to have one colonic per week amidst your cleanse. Or maybe you don’t have an idea at all and would like to experience the benefits for yourself! Scheduling colonics is customizable and they can be used according to your needs and the results you’re looking to achieve.
Most colon hydrotherapy clients have a good sense of whether colon hydrotherapy colonic sessions are an ideal health modality for them after their first set of “back-to-back” sessions. Go with your gut, trust your intuition and/or talk to your colon hydrotherapist and they will help you devise a tailored program that is ideal for you.

We’ve had clients who consider themselves to be “regular” and have experienced the benefits of colonics for the holistic health of their body. Colonics can be an essential aspect of detoxifying your body, helping all of it’s interconnected systems function better. Even if you eliminate well on your own, colon hydrotherapy can be useful.

While we don’t have a problem with clients using methods like natural laxatives or enemas once in a blue moon/in an emergency situation, there’s simply no remedy quite like an open system colonic.
It is our opinion that colonics are not only easier to have than enemas, but also much more efficient. Enemas are only capable of addressing the rectum and sigmoid colon—essentially the bottom 7 inches of your digestive system. When you do an enema at home, you hold as much water in your colon as you can for as long as you can and then eliminate. It is basically just one fill of water.
A colonic can access the entire length of your colon. When you have a colonic, you have a continuous flow of water in. You do not have to hold the water beyond your comfort level and can eliminate whenever need be without having to run to a restroom. Most people are able to hold more water throughout the session as they clear out fecal matter and impactions in their gut.
Laxatives (including smooth move tea and other herbal natural remedies) are stimulants that actively irritate the colon to induce contractions which can lead to more gut issues and dependency. They definitely don’t “clean you out.”

You do not need to fast to have a colonic session although if you are already on a fast or cleanse, it is a great time to have a colonic! We recommend against eating a lot/any big meals a few hours before your session as this can sometimes lead to mild discomfort during your session.
We strongly suggest that clients consider upping intake of water, fresh fruit, and whole vegetables before coming in and decreasing consumption of processed foods and any foods you know to be sensitive or allergic to.
A whole food (preferably plant-based) diet and eating well before a cleanse begins the process of helping your body to flush out toxins, making your colonic much easier and more efficient!

The equipment we use, The Angel of Water, is an open system.
This literally means that the nozzle that goes in your bottom is very small (smaller than the diameter of a pencil), and that when you eliminate during the session, your eliminations openly move around the tube as they get flushed down through the clear viewing tube and into the sewer. In a closed system, the nozzle that goes in your bottom is a bit larger, allowing water to go in and waste eliminations to go out through the same tube.
While both open and closed system colonics work great to clean out the large intestines, we believe the open system to be much more comfortable and efficient for the client. There is also a theory that an open-system colonic may be more beneficial in toning your colon as it helps to stimulate a “work out” of the peristaltic action of the colon.
